Diversified wastewater recycling programs

In the United States, since 1994, the SUEZ Environment subsidiary United Water Services and the local authorities (West Municipal Basin Water District) have opted to work together to find a solution for the exhaustion of the ground water. Since the construction of the West Basin plant, 140,000 m3/day are recycled to make up for the water deficits in the area. The uses are multiple: agricultural irrigation, industrial reuse, watering of private gardens, and even production of drinking water by recharging to the underground.
