Changshu Sino French Water Supply Co. Ltd. is a joint venture between Sino French Water, a subsidiary of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, and Changshu Urban Construction Public Assets Management Co. Ltd. established in 2006.
Changshu, located in Jiangsu Province, is one of China's most well-developed centers; its GDP ranked among top 10 in China for many years. With many investment projects along the Yangtze River, the environment faced a certain amount of pollution pressure, which the local government has put effort to reverse.
Changshu Sino French Water is a full concession project that aims to invest, construct, operate, renovate and maintain the water facilities and network, conduct customer service and other water-related initiatives in Changshu.
SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is committed and dedicated to helping Changshu achieve sustainable development and providing water supply and treatment services. Created in December 2006 and for a contract period of 30 years, the joint venture produces and distributes drinking water as well as manages the customer services to the entire Changshu population of 1.8 million and covers an area of 1,264 km². Changshu has three water plants to produce a daily supply capacity of more than 675,000 cubic meters and uses pipelines with length of over 2,600 km.
