Nanshi Water Plant

 

Degrémont rehabilitated and modernised the Nanshi Water Plant, a century old plant that provides drinking water to residents in the Nanshi area of Shanghai. The new Nanshi Water Plant will be completed in 2009.

 

The new Nanshi Water Plant, located in the Shanghai Expo Park, will use the most advanced technologies to meet the city's requirements for quality drinking water. The new Nanshi plant will use state-of-the-art technologies, such as clarification process and ozonation plus GAC fitler. (Densadeg, Aquazur V® filter, , Ozonation, Cabazur filter Sludge thickening and dewatering, etc.).  The new Nanshi plant is Degrémont's first implementation of the ozonation plus GAC filter technology in China. Ozonation is a water treatment process that destroys bacteria and other microorganism by infusing ozone, a gas produced from oxygen.  Phase 1 of the new Nanshi plant will generate European Union drinking water standards treated water and will produce 500,000 cubic meters each day.

 

Yangshupu Drinking Water Treatment Plant

 

Located in the northern part of Shanghai, the Yangshupu Drinking Water Treatment Plant supplies inhabitants of the Yanpu district. Built in 1883, the Yangshupu Drinking Water Treatment Plant is one of China's oldest and largest drinking water plants, located by the Huangpu River and serving approximately 2.5 million people in Shanghai and the surrounding areas.

 

Degrémont was awarded to extend the plant by a daily capacity of 360,000 cubic meters in 2005 The extension of the plant will be equipped with Degrémont patented technologies, Densadeg® and Aquazur V®, Cabazaur® and an ozone disinfection system for pre- and post-treatment stages.
