Capital Steel Wastewater Treatment Plant

Degrémont China signed a contract in 2001 for the Capital Steel Wastewater Treatment and reuse Plant, marking a milestone in the Chinese iron & steel industry. Since 2001, Degrémont has been awarded with around 20 contracts in the iron and steel industry in China.

 

In 2001, Capital Steel Corporation pledged investment of 1.25 billion Yuan in 17 key environmental protection projects, including energy and water conseravation, sewage treatment plants and emissions reduction. The Capital Steel Wastewater Treatment Plant, part of that initiative, has a daily capacity of 108,000 cubic meters , 20 percent of which is domestic wastewater and 80 percent is of processed effluent. The plant is equipped with Degrémont‘s technologies Densadeg® and Aquazur V®. To protect the water resource, the outlet water is used for recycling cooling water system.
